A few more tips are: Make sure you use the <title> tag to put a title (usually the name of your driving school) to your page and <description> tags and give your graphics an <alt> tag –so some text is displayed if the image cannot be viewed. Don't use frames, and as a slightly more advanced step use the <h1> tag for your heading.
If your website has more than one page you need a method for people to get from one page to another. Usually this is in the form of buttons or a navigation bar. Again keep it simple. However, there's a problem. Remember we said search engines don't read graphics? Well buttons or navigation bars are graphics, so the search engines won't follow those links! The answer is to make sure that every page can also be reached via a text link. That's one reason why many sites, in addition to their fancy navigation buttons, have a list of text links to each individual page along the bottom of their site.
UPLOAD
When you've got your site ready, it's time to upload it so other people can see it. Many web design programmes have an integrated tool to enable you to do this. If not you need to get a programme such as CuteFtp that you can download from the Internet. When you arranged your webhosting, they will have told you the settings you need to enter to get your site onto their servers. Once, you've done this, type in your domain name into your web browser, just like you do to visit other sites and hey presto, your site should be there!
GET THE VIEWS OF OTHERS
Once you've got your website up and running, it's really helpful to get others to look at it and tell you what they think. You might not like what they say, but it's helpful to listen to their objective viewpoint and make adjustments to the site accordingly.
